In this blog tutorial we are going to repair a Polti Forever 615 ironing center Step by Step. In this case, our Polti iron does not take on water. The ironing center pump is responsible for introducing the water from the appliance tank to load the boiler. We are going to replace the pump to carry out the repair of the Polti Forever 615 ironing center, although this repair guide is also valid for other Polti Forever models: 600, 605, 615...
This failure can occur due to residues, impurities and traces of lime in the water or when the appliance has not been used for some time. The iron pump is blocked and the failure occurs. Sometimes, although the pump sounds, it does not perform its function correctly.
Breakdown of the Polti Forever 615 iron
The pump does not take water from the tank, therefore, no steam comes out.
Tools needed
- Phillips screwdriver medium
- Pliers
Polti 615 ironing center repair process
- withdraw the deposit from the ironing center
- remove the screws that fix the lower base of the boiler of the appliance and remove upper casings. Now we can see all the functional parts of the iron: pump, solenoid valve, boiler, resistance...
- Remove the bolts from the pump dampers, remove the pump
- Change the thermal fuse of the old pump to the new one.
- Connect the pipes from the old pump to the replacement pump: one that comes from the ironing center tank and another that carries the water to the boiler. For this we will have to help ourselves with pliers to correctly fix the clamps.
- Fix the pump dampers and the screws.
Checking the operation of the pump and boiler
You have to place the tank and plug in the appliance, for this we recommend mounting the upper casing beforehand (be careful with electricity!!!). The appliance must take a large amount of water from the tank, since it must fill the boiler. The water intake process is carried out several times, since it gradually heats the water inside the boiler.
