Common problems with blenders
These three problems are the main reasons why people take their mixers in for repair or change mixers (prematurely)
In Electrotodo, we explain how
The jar on my blender has cracked .
When glasses, for no apparent reason, start to crack, it is almost always due to sudden changes in temperature . This happens more frequently with glass glasses. If immediately after boiling the vegetables for the puree, we put them into the blender glass to finish preparing it, the sudden difference in temperature will cause it to crack. It can also happen when the temperature changes to cold , if we try to crush ice or make a very cold smoothie.
My mixer is dripping .
The sealing of the glass is produced at the base of the glass, where the seal that joins the glass/plastic glass with the blade and the fastening thread is located. This blender seal must remain flexible and must not present deformations. Sometimes, even if the seal is in perfect condition, or we have already changed it, we make a mistake in the order of placement and the blender continues to drip. The seal must always be in contact with the glass , that is, if the seal does not touch the glass and is, for example, between the blade and the fastening thread, the appliance will continue to present the same fault.
When I start the mixer, it sounds strange .
If you hear a squeaking or knocking noise when you turn on the appliance, it is likely that the blade or motor clutch (the parts that transmit the movement of the motor to the blades, they are usually cylindrical and toothed) have become deformed , are breaking or the screws that hold them in place have worn out. Sometimes this fault occurs when the seal is incorrectly positioned, as described above, and sometimes it is due to wear and tear caused by use or excessive load on the glass.
