In this video , Pepe, a repair technician at Electrotodo, shows you step by step how to diagnose and repair the grinder on a high-end DeLonghi coffee machine: a description of the fault, how to disassemble it, how to replace the grinder/motor assembly, and what to check to get the machine working properly again. This content follows the practical and educational style characteristic of the Electrotodo channel, aimed at users who want to troubleshoot faults themselves or better understand a technical intervention.
Spare parts and references (those used in the video):
- Grinder/motor assembly AS00006755 — reference indicated in the video (available at Electrotodo).
- Anti-vibration rubbers (transfer the one from the old engine to the new engine if the spare part does not include it).
- Replacement grounds tray (if the tray is deformed and does not detect correctly).
Tools we use
- T15 Torx Screwdriver (Main Tool)
- Small vacuum cleaner for removing coffee dust
- Small flathead screwdriver for prying
Step by step (the essentials)
- Disconnect and prepare: remove the tank and leave the machine without power.
- Opening: remove casings and cover (Pepe shows the screws and tabs that need to be released).
- Locate the hopper and grinder: vacuum up any coffee grounds and locate the two motor wires.
- Remove the old engine: carefully disassemble and keep the anti-vibration rubber.
- Install new motor (AS00006755): position the anti-vibration rubber, align the 3 pins/notches and reconnect the cables.
- Assembly and testing: assemble housings, screw together, check that the grounds tray fits, and perform a grinding and extraction test.
- Final check: If the tray error persists, check the tabs, sensors, and tray geometry; if there are any noises, check the anti-vibration rubber and the motor seating.
Practical tips and warnings
- Do not use coffee with impurities or roasted coffee (very bad coffee or coffee with “pebbles” can break notches and are not covered by the warranty).
- The new engine does not include the anti-vibration rubber, recover it from the old engine: it reduces noise.
